A wired headset with lighting that responds to viewers

Razer today announced the Razer Kraken Kitty V3, a wired gaming headset that connects to compatible computers and mobile devices through USB Type-C (opens in a new tab). Its illuminated cat ears and earcups can respond to audience activity during streams, giving creators lighting controls alongside the headset’s microphone and game audio features.

Razer Chroma RGB with 16.8 million colors

Razer Chroma RGB supplies a palette of 16.8 million colors for customizing the ears and earcups. The Streamer Companion app lets users configure lighting responses to chat activity, alerts and emotes, linking the headset’s appearance to interactions from viewers.

For voice capture, the headset includes the Razer HyperClear Cardioid Mic, which Razer says reduces background noise while prioritizing the speaker’s voice. Its ear cushions combine leatherette with fabric, a construction the company says provides passive noise isolation and comfort during longer sessions of gaming or streaming.

Game audio at the desk and lighting on the go

The headset uses Razer TriForce 40 mm Drivers with a proprietary design split into three parts. Razer says that design improves separation between game alerts, voice communication and background audio, while 7.1 Surround Sound is intended to help players locate sounds during games.

Away from a computer, users can plug the headset’s fixed USB Type-C cable into a portable power bank to illuminate the RGB for cosplay gatherings and conventions. Three lighting presets stored onboard let users change colors and effects while out, providing controls for matching the lighting to an outfit or character.
