How we check

TunedRoom / Privacy

Privacy, from request to measurement.

This policy explains the information involved in loading a page, measuring its use and writing to TunedRoom.

If you ask to hear from us

Newsletter sign-up asks for your email address. We use it to handle your request and send an email asking you to confirm your sign-up. Your new subscription starts only after you open that link and confirm on our website. We do not send an additional welcome email after confirmation. We record the request, the page it came from, the time you signed up and your subscription choices. Signing up here does not subscribe you to another publication.

A spam check uses browser and connection information to limit automated or repeated requests. A temporary cookie displays the sign-up result. Our email and security service providers process the information needed to support these functions. Use the unsubscribe link in any issue to stop future emails, or contact us about your subscription records.

First, the page request

Hosting and security services process connection information, including your IP address, requested page, browser details and request time, to deliver the site, find errors and address abuse. Security features may use cookies to distinguish legitimate traffic from abuse.

Two forms of audience measurement

Umami
Cookieless page-view measurement processes connection and browser information to produce audience statistics. It runs independently of the optional Google Analytics choice.
Google Analytics
The default depends on your country or region. In some locations, Google Analytics starts only after you agree; elsewhere, it may run by default. You can switch it off in Cookie settings at any time. We use country or region information from your connection to choose the default; if we cannot establish which rules apply, measurement stays off until you enable it. Google Analytics may use analytics cookies.

We do not send names, email addresses, form text or URL query strings as analytics data. Private editorial previews exclude audience analytics. We do not use session replay.

Changing the Google Analytics choice

Open “Cookie settings” in the footer, enable or disable “Optional measurement”, then select “Save choices”. If browser storage is available, the choice is saved in this browser’s local storage for later visits. You can change it with the same control. Declining stops subsequent Google Analytics measurement and attempts to remove the Google Analytics cookies the page can access. It cannot erase information Google already received. Use your browser settings for remaining cookies. Clearing site data removes the saved preference; cookieless Umami measurement continues independently. We also honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track browser preferences by keeping optional measurement off.

Search terms and correspondence

Search matches titles and summaries within TunedRoom. It is not an external search service. The search term appears in the page URL, so do not use it for passwords or private information.

If you email us, we receive your address, message and any attachments you send. We use them to respond or handle the issue. Send only the details the request needs.

Services involved in the route

Hosting, security, email and measurement providers process information needed to operate the publication. Our analytics service supplies Umami measurement; Google processes Google Analytics data when measurement is enabled. Processing may occur outside your country. We may disclose information when law requires it or to address fraud, abuse or security issues. External links lead to sites with their own privacy practices.

Questions, access and removal

Use browser controls to manage cookies and site storage. For privacy questions or a request to access, correct or remove correspondence, write to contact@tunedroom.com. We assess requests under the rules that apply and may verify your identity. Security, legal obligations or an unresolved request may require some records to be retained.

We revise this page when our information practices change. Updated September 14, 2026.
