Choose the time for your exact Beats
- Allow about 2 hours 15 minutes for Beats Solo 4, or 2 hours for Beats Studio Pro.
- If you're short on time, use your model's Fast Fuel figure. The documented top-ups below take 5 or 10 minutes.
- Match the exact model name before choosing a charging time, because the playback you get differs.
If you're about to leave with a low battery, we'd check your model's top-up figure first, because a short charge can give you listening time without waiting through the longer charging duration. The useful choice is how much listening you need now and which Beats you're holding.
Keep two numbers separate as you read: minutes or hours connected to power, and hours of playback afterward. Apple's charging and playback estimates (opens in a new tab) pair those numbers by device, so you can choose between a short top-up and a longer charging session.
Solo 4 and Studio Pro charging durations
For Solo 4, Apple pairs an approximate 2-hour-and-15-minute charge with up to 50 hours of playback. That gives you a useful planning figure when you're setting aside charging time before a longer stretch of listening.
For Studio Pro, Apple's charging guide gives a 2-hour charge and up to 24 hours of playback, rising to up to 40 hours when both Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency mode are off. Keep the listening mode alongside the playback estimate when you plan how long the headphones will last.
The Studio Pro support page (opens in a new tab) phrases the mode conditions differently: up to 40 hours with ANC or Transparency turned off, or up to 24 hours with ANC turned on. We'd use the charging guide's explicit instruction to turn both modes off when planning around its 40-hour figure.
Your model is the deciding factor in this charging-time comparison. Solo 4 and Studio Pro have different documented durations, so choose the estimate attached to the exact name. The ANC and Transparency qualifications above describe the listening time afterward.
What a 10-minute top-up buys you
With Solo 4, a 10-minute Fast Fuel charge provides up to 5 hours of playback. Beats repeats that low-battery top-up claim on its Solo 4 support page (opens in a new tab), making it a useful option when you need to get back to listening.
The same 10-minute charging window gives Studio Pro up to 4 hours of playback. Choose that figure for Studio Pro even though its longer charging duration is shorter than Solo 4's: the two models have their own charging and playback estimates.
Beats Flex also uses a 10-minute top-up figure, but the result is up to 1.5 hours of playback. Its separate full-charge battery-life claim is up to 12 hours. Use the shorter playback estimate when you're deciding what a brief charge can buy you.
What a 5-minute top-up buys you
For Beats Fit Pro, Powerbeats Fit and Beats Solo Buds, a 5-minute charge provides up to 1 hour of playback. These three named models share the same short-charge estimate, which is the number to use when you only have that charging window available.
Powerbeats Pro 2 and Beats Studio Buds + each provide up to 1.5 hours of playback after a 5-minute charge. Pay attention to the complete name, including the 2 or the +, when you match your earbuds to the estimate.
For planning, use these individual five-minute charging figures (opens in a new tab). Apple's general Fast Fuel description refers to over an hour from a brief charge, while its entries for Fit Pro, Powerbeats Fit and Solo Buds specifically say up to 1 hour. The model entries give you the more precise answer.
Keep case-assisted playback separate
When you're comparing earbud battery life, check whether the total includes the charging case. For both Beats Fit Pro and Powerbeats Fit, Apple lists up to 27 hours with ANC on and up to 30 hours with ANC off when using the case. Those are case-assisted playback totals.
Powerbeats Pro 2 has a different case-assisted total: up to 36 hours with ANC on, or up to 45 hours with ANC off. Beats Studio Buds + is rated for up to 30 hours with ANC on and up to 36 hours with ANC off, also when using the charging case.
Solo Buds has a separate playback claim of up to 18 hours. Keep each figure with its stated conditions: a short-charge result tells you what that charging window provides, while a case-assisted total describes playback when you're also using the case.
How to plan around the playback estimates
Read every playback estimate with its “up to” qualification intact. Apple says battery life depends on device settings, environment, usage and other factors. That means your listening conditions matter when you decide how closely to plan around the advertised hours.
If you need listening time right at the upper end of a top-up estimate, leave some room in your plan instead of treating that maximum as a promise. The estimate is useful for choosing a charging window, while the battery-life qualification explains why your actual playback can differ.
Which models these figures cover
This comparison covers the eight headphone and earbud models named above in Apple's 2026 Beats guide. Use the entries as an exact-model lookup when you're choosing a top-up, keeping names such as Powerbeats Fit and Powerbeats Pro 2 separate.
The Beats guide's software coverage (opens in a new tab) is iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, tvOS 26 and visionOS 26 or later, plus the Beats app on Android. That's the guide's edition scope. The basic charging instructions below are specifically for Solo 4 and Studio Pro.
Connect Solo 4 or Studio Pro to power
For Beats Solo 4 (opens in a new tab), connect the headphones to a power source using the included USB-C cable. The USB-C power adapter is sold separately, so account for that when you're putting your charging setup together.
The Solo 4 LED light illuminates while the headphones are charging. That's the visible charging behavior to look for after you've connected them to power.
For Beats Studio Pro (opens in a new tab), connect the headphones to a power source using its included USB-C cable. Its USB-C power adapter is also sold separately.
On Studio Pro, look for the Fuel Gauge LEDs to illuminate while the headphones are charging.
