A clip or hook, with different audio options
Shokz OpenDots 2 costs $199.95 and uses an ear clip, while OpenFit Pro costs $249.95 and pairs an ear hook with Open-Ear Noise Reduction and head-tracked audio (opens in a new tab). According to Shokz, both designs leave the ear canal unobstructed, so environmental sounds may still be audible.

OpenDots 2 weighs 6.4g ± 0.2g for each earbud, compared with 12.3g for each OpenFit Pro earbud. Its clip combines contoured silicone with a flexible nickel-titanium JointArc™, while OpenFit Pro uses titanium hooks and Ultra-Soft Silicone™ 2.0. Shokz suggests considering how the OpenFit Pro hooks sit alongside glasses arms, since ear shape and frame design affect that fit.
For music and video, OpenDots 2 combines Dolby Audio and MirrorPitch™ with DirectPitch™ and Bassphere™ 2.0, using a spherical module containing two 11.8mm drivers. OpenFit Pro instead offers Dolby Atmos-optimized audio alongside Shokz SuperBoost™ and DirectPitch™. Both support Bluetooth 6.1, while their water-resistance ratings differ: IP57 for OpenDots 2 and IP55 for OpenFit Pro.
Noise reduction changes your charging routine
Shokz says OpenFit Pro's Open-Ear Noise Reduction aims to lower surrounding noise while preserving its open-ear design. With that feature disabled, battery life reaches up to 12 hours on a charge or up to 50 hours including the case. Enabling it reduces those limits to up to 6 hours and up to 24 hours, respectively.
For calls, each OpenDots 2 earbud has one bone-conduction microphone and two air-conduction microphones, supported by adaptive beamforming and AI noise reduction intended to prioritize your voice. OpenFit Pro has a triple AI noise-canceling and wind-resistant microphone system, with technology Shokz says is intended to preserve voice pickup in windy conditions.
The $199.95 OpenDots 2 is the lighter option and uses a clip. The $249.95 OpenFit Pro uses a hook and includes head-tracked audio plus Open-Ear Noise Reduction.
