LG Channels Adds Hunger Games, Saw and John Wick Pop-Ups

LG Channels announces movie pop-ups for The Hunger Games, Saw and John Wick, with separate plans for four additional Lionsgate channels.

Three franchises get limited-run channels

LG Channels is adding pop-up channels built around The Hunger Games, Saw and John Wick, and the company says they will run through the end of the year (opens in a new tab). The channels come from Lionsgate, which has been LG Channels' global partner since 2022.

Pop-ups run through the end of the year

LG's schedule starts with The Hunger Games on Oct. 1, ending Oct. 15, with five films covering the entire franchise. A new installment is scheduled for theaters on Nov. 20. The Saw channel is scheduled to start Oct. 16 and end Nov. 4. LG says it will carry eight films, also offered on demand, and describes it as the franchise's first standalone FAST channel. John Wick is scheduled for Dec. 17 through Dec. 31 with four films; LG says this will be the franchise's FAST channel debut.

LG says a previous Hunger Games pop-up ranked among the top 10 channels overall on the service. Matthew Durgin, Vice President, Media Entertainment Services North America, said the channels are built around moments when the films are most relevant, "from 'Saw' for Halloween to 'John Wick' for the holidays".

Four more Lionsgate channels join the lineup

LG also plans to add four Lionsgate FAST channels to its service. Pulse will focus on medical dramas such as Nurse Jackie. Ghosts and Rookie Blue will each have a channel devoted to that series. Lionsgate Network will offer films and series, with La La Land among the announced titles.

The US version of LG Channels already carries 13 Lionsgate channels, and Lionsgate content appears on the service in 13 countries. LG Channels itself operates more than 4,500 channels across 36 countries and is available on webOS-powered devices.
