The Bose SoundLink Flex Bluetooth Speaker (2nd Gen) is built for listeners who want clear, balanced audio while moving between the beach, a trail or the backyard. Its compact frame and utility loop make it easy to clip onto a bag or carry by hand, and the silicone-wrapped body shrugs off the occasional drop. Bose rates the battery at twelve hours, so a full afternoon of playtime is within reach without hunting for an outlet.
We recommend this model if you want a rugged speaker that can sit on a patio table, hang from a shower hook or lie flat on the grass without fuss. PositionIQ technology senses how the speaker is oriented and adjusts the sound to match, so you can set it down any which way.
Pairing, linking and your Bluetooth connection
This speaker uses Bluetooth 5.3 and keeps a connection to your phone or tablet from up to 30 feet away. Multipoint technology lets you pair more than one device at once, so switching between a laptop and a phone does not mean digging through settings menus. Calls also come through the SoundLink Flex, which keeps conversations close when your handset is across the room.
Want more spread? You can link two compatible Bose speakers and pick between a separated left-and-right presentation or a wider shared-party output. The Bose app handles software updates and unlocks the latest features, so install it before your first trip. Check that your phone's Bluetooth works with 5.3, and confirm whether you already own a second Bose speaker that can link with this one.
Where this speaker fits and when to pass
This is a strong pick for a patio, pool deck, kitchen counter or dorm room where one portable speaker needs to handle water, dust and the occasional tumble. The waterproof and dustproof rating covers splashes and rain, and the small footprint makes it easy to move between rooms or pack in a bag.
At $99.00, this is a new all-time low and $35.58 under the typical price of $134.58 over the last 90 days. The 13,418 reviews point to broad satisfaction with sound and durability. That said, if you need room-filling volume for a large party or want a built-in voice assistant, this model may not be the right fit. The Rosewood Mauve finish is a limited-edition color, so check availability before ordering if you prefer a standard look.
