The JBL Tune 780NC is an over-ear noise cancelling pair made for long stretches of music, calls and video from a phone, tablet or laptop. JBL rates battery life at up to 76 hours with Bluetooth on and ANC off, and up to 50 hours with noise cancelling active. A five-minute speed charge returns about five hours of playtime.
We'd consider it for listeners who want one pair to cover commuting, work and evening listening without recharging midweek. The trade-off: it's not built for critical mixing, and 4.2 stars from 85 reviews suggests it's a solid rather than flawless package. At $109.00, that's a typical price over the last 90 days and an all-time low, which is a fair entry point for the feature set.
Connections and formats to check
Bluetooth 6.0 handles the wireless link, and multipoint lets two devices stay paired so you can move between a tablet and phone without reconnecting. Fast Pair on Android and Swift Pair on Windows 10 or 11 cut out the menu diving. If you want the Hi-Res path, the included USB-C to 3.5mm cable is the wired option to use.
Two beamforming mics handle voice pickup and noise reduction for calls, which matters if you take meetings in a busy space. The JBL Headphones app is where you set up Personi-Fi 3.0, adjust EQ presets and control Smart Ambient.
Where these headphones fit and when to skip
These suit a commute, an open office or a desk where ambient noise competes with your audio, because adaptive ANC and Smart Ambient let you tune how much of the room gets through. The fold-flat build and padded headband make them easy to drop into a bag, and the white finish is the only color listed in this model.
Skip them if you need a charging cable in the box, since one isn't included, or if your priority is a wired-only studio setup. Our advice is to verify the return window and cup fit before buying, because comfort over long sessions depends on your head shape more than any spec sheet.
Charging cable is not included, so budget for a USB-C cable if you don't already have one.
If ANC is your main reason to buy, know that the 76-hour figure applies with it off; expect up to 50 hours with it on.
