The Baseus Bowie MC2 Open Ear Clip On Earbuds clip onto your ear rather than sealing it, so you hear music and the street at the same time. That's the reason to consider them over sealed earbuds for running, cycling and busy sidewalks, where hearing a car or an announcement matters as much as the track.
At 5.1 g per side with a memory titanium C-ring, they're built to stay put through movement without pressing on the ear canal. Open-ear design lets traffic, announcements and conversations through, which is the whole point of the format for commuting and outdoor walks.
We recommend them for anyone whose listening happens while moving outside, and we'd skip them if what you want is deep isolation from a sealed in-ear design.
Bluetooth 6.0, LDAC and the phone in your pocket
Bluetooth 6.0 handles the wireless link, and LDAC carries Hi-Res audio when the source supports it. LDAC is the codec that matters here because it needs a compatible Android phone or player to engage; with an iPhone or a device that tops out at SBC or AAC, the earbuds will fall back rather than run Hi-Res.
The 4-mic array with AI beamforming focuses on your voice and reduces wind and background noise, which is what makes calls workable on a run or a ride. The 11.5-hour single-charge figure and the 55-hour case figure are quoted with SuperBass 3.0 active, so that is the mode the battery numbers reflect.
Check that your phone supports LDAC before expecting Hi-Res, and confirm which digital assistant and app controls you rely on through the companion app before buying.
Where these fit and when to pass
For the gym, the commute or outdoor work, IP67 means sweat and rain aren't a reason to take them off, and the open design keeps you aware of your surroundings.
At $49.99, this is the lowest price we've seen on these earbuds, below the typical going rate of $58.22 over the past 90 days. With 796 reviews behind them, the deal is the strongest part of the pitch.
Skip them if you need active noise cancellation or a fully sealed fit for a loud train or plane. Otherwise, confirm the M, L and XL sleeve or tip sizes cover your ears and that the charging case uses a cable or connector you already own.
From source to room: open-ear awareness plus IP67 for sweat and rain suits running, gym sessions and commutes; sealed isolation is the trade you accept.
